Nonetheless, the limit remained at 60 days until mid-2020, when Apple extended post-purchase eligibility for AppleCare+, allowing you to opt-in for any Apple device for a period of up to one year after purchase. Presumably, the internal iOS diagnostics provided Apple with enough information, in this case, to determine whether the device was in acceptable condition.
